looks good so far! If you are having lots of trouble figuring out the website builder.... maybe a blog would be easier? I happen to be pretty good at wordpress blog setup seo and operation......

Oh really?? I could really use a hand. I have a blog at freebies.angiesfreebies.com. I am looking for something easy like blogger where I basically fill in the blanks. Since I post 3-6 posts each day I figure the blog will be much easier. I will just use the website to write tips and articles about my blog.

So, how can you help? I would love that!! I am about to go bald from pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I will gladly accept as little or as much as you offer. Thank you!!

with GoDaddy hosting, its a little harder to use anything but what they offer, but for your freebies, I think just a blog will be all you need. I would put the blog on the main domain instead of a sub domain like you have it now. You can always ad static pages for other things if you want. A wordpress blog is easy when set up correctly and offers great seo right out of the box. I hate to see any of the work you have already put in go to waste but it is up to you.

Ok, I want to use wordpress, I even downloaded it. However, I can't seem to open it. any tips on how to open and implement it into my blog. I agree I should have my blog at as the main domain. I will change that today.

While i can teach blogging and I am great at organizing, admin and you name it, i will fully confess i am so not techie. i still have issues with a cell phone for goodness sakes..now that is bad!

Just goes to show we all have our strengths.

I used Godaddy hosting once and didn't like it. I am used to the good ol cPanel where I have more control. But anyway. With non godaddy hosting there is generally an installer in the control panel to install wordpress. I Do Not remember with Godaddy what they do offer.

Problem being now, to install on your main domain, you will need to uninstall everything else on the main domain (the web site you started), your blog on the sub domain will be ok but you will not need it..... If you can get your blog on the main domain and do not mind how it works.... I would suggest using what you have for now.... just to make life simpler.... (is there such a thing?) lol

Good morning Angie, thought i would pop in before running around.

I noted you saying this... " Since I post 3-6 posts each day I figure the blog will be much easier. " Please understand that posting this many times a day will not get you any higher in ranking of Google. In fact some say it might work against you. The rule of thumb is....one post a day. The posts should be fairly short and easy to read for the 5 or 6 days and then create a longer post once a week.

Just thought i would say this... :-)

Scott is very correct in saying that staying with a blog is the best way to go and Wordpress is still the number one choice for blogging platforms. As you already have your own domain name, then the issue becomes academic.

how is everyone today?

Hi Diane, I understand that several posts my hurt my search rating but it keeps my readers coming back. However, do you think it would help if I put all of the days freebies under one post?

Also, like I told Scott, I am lost at how to use wordpress on godaddy. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

There are a few ways to do this and I do understand what you are saying. With the type of niche that you have, then keeping the interest is very important, but that can be said of any blog or blogger...lol

what you could do is for example..if you found a freebie you wanted to share... then create a post on that freebie, but add in a bit more detail as in, where it is available, how easy is it to acquire it..that type of thing. then you could add, maybe different locations where one might get such product. how much you can buy this at a store...that type of thing? At the end of a week, you could to a post such... My top 5...6...whatever products of the week. then create a list of those products..with the links to the pages that you have already created. this serves two purposes..one you will have a fairly easy post, but one of value to your customers and two, because you are bringing older posts to the surface it will add value to your blog which is basic SEO.

does this help you at all?

Hi there. Please read my reply to Scott down below this. I know from being a freebie finder for a while now that when I find a freebie all I am interested in is what it is and the link to get it. I have seen people who post every detail about the freebie and the entire form you need to fill out to get it and I personally just scan over everything but thw title and the link. That is why I decided to omit all of that. I add my opinion about the freebies. I also will warn people if it is an extra long form or if they require a lot of info. I write my blog like I would tell my friends about the freebies. So far I have alot of repeat customers as well as a lot of new customers plus I get a good amount of positive feedback. I am also listed on a bunch of others peoples blogs under links or blogs they like (without asking to be).

Yesterday I had 178 readers. 410 page views. My bounce rate is on average 18%. I think these statistics speak for themselves. I am going to change a fewthings, things I have been wanting to do since I started my blog and just didn't know how. See my reply to Scott down below about the categories and so on.

I do however really appreciate your advice. I will let you know once it is up and running. Also, let me know if you think of anything else I could use or should think about. I am always open to suggestions.

I don't believe several posts a day will hurt your SER but more than one a day will not help to much in that department. A little longer, well organized post that flows well (easy to read and follow) may work better that short blurb posts about different "freebies".

Wordpress on Godaddy may not be worth the time

I plan on sticking with posting as many freebies as I can find for the day. Some of my postd are only a few sentences while alot are a paragraph or two. I also post about other things that relate to me or freebies. I personlize each post. Have you checked out my blog? I feel it is easy to read I get a lot of good feedback from my readers. My main goal for the new blog is to have categories. I want to have the home page of course that has "todays" freebies plus a post on tips for finding freebies, and a couple other posts that go along with whatever that days freebies are. Then on the home page I want a menu on the side with a list of categories like "Freebies for Woman, " Free Clothes", Free Cosmetics" and so on. That way readers can easily find specific items they want. My godaddy account came with a program called Website Tonight. I am learning as I go but I think it will be just fine. I appreciate the input. I will let you know when I am finished.

One more question, I am looking to have my name branded with a logo. The free sites are to basic. I plan on hiring someone to do that for me. about how much should something like that cost? Just a ballpark figure. I am asking because i have absolutely no clue and need a starting point for negotiating. Thanks again for your help. I will let you know when I am up and running.
