While reading a great thought on
Angies Freebies titled "
Be Careful Out There", I noted a comment by
Scott Reynolds regarding "Auto Follow" which got me thinking.. How good is "Auto Follow" programs or "Auto Follow Replies" and is it worth it.

I have to be very blunt and I know that I am not going to be very popular when I say I don't like these kind of programs, but then I am not alone in my thinking. John Reese, who is considered an Internet Marketing pioneer shares my thinking and in fact on his blog "
Income.com Blog, he did one of the best articles on why we share our dislike of Auto-Follow and why to us it is BAD Marketing.
Without giving the whole article away, I will just give his main points:
1. Twitter Auto-Follow Is The New Email ‘Safe List’
2.”It’s Not Show-Friends It’s Show-Business”
3.You’ll Get Bombarded With Direct Messages That Aren’t Worth Your Time.
4. Auto-Follow Destroys The Twitter Experience
5. Twitter Users That Auto-Follow Will Lose Credibility.
I know that with everyone being rushed for time, it is easy to fall into the trap of wanting to do everything as fast as possible, as easy as possible and as automated as possible. Many of us are working two jobs, have families and other obligations. We need to have an edge.
But is this the way to do it?
I would love to hear from others about what they look for in an auto follow program, apart from the obvious of getting thousands of followers. Oh by the way...have you gotten any porn stars yet?
David Risley did an interesting post about this, but i have to warn you, some of the language might be offensive to some.
